The reason I’ve not been blogging much over the past few weeks is that I haven’t been looking at much new (to me) stuff. I’m at a stage with my thesis now when I’m rewriting, improving and clarifying what I’ve written before, trying to get it into a final shape. And abridging, too. When I got all my chapters and fragments together, they were way over length, so now I’m going through and cutting out all the digressions and picturesque details. All my favourite bits, in other words…

Reading your short post on having to go through editing your work reminded me of when I was trying to condense my dissertation last year to make it a suitable length for a conference. It is so hard having to remove sections that you value, and it sounds like you enjoy the creative aspect of the writing like me. I am at the opposite stage of my Masters thesis now, just started my research blog and still trying to pinpoint exactly what it is I am trying to focus on, it’s hard.
Anyway, good look with your editing, and it would be much appreciated if you had a couple of minutes to look at my site. 🙂

Thanks, Megan. I took a look at your blog, and was rather impressed. Recommended to all fans of Zapatistas.
